GREENACRES, Fla. – As part of its ongoing support of the community, Hoffman’s Chocolates is pleased to announce that it is celebrating the start of the 2019/2020 school year by holding a Backpack Drive, on July 29 through August 11 at all of its retail stores in Broward and Palm Beach counties, to benefit ChildNet.  ChildNet is a Community-Based Care (CBC) lead agency in both Broward and Palm Beach counties that works to protect abused, abandoned and neglected children.

Anyone who donates a NEW school backpack at a participatingHoffman’s Chocolates retail location on July 29through Friday, August 11, will receive a Free Ice Cream Sundae. The offer is limited to one Hoffman’s Chocolates Ice Cream Sundae per donated school backpack (no drawstring bags, messenger bags or fanny packs).  All backpacks should be brought to the store registers for redemption. Participating locations include Hoffman’s Chocolates stores in Greenacres, Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation and Weston. Sweet Creations for Sweet Donations

Ice cream sundae contest

We held our annual ice cream sundae competition, Sweet Creations for Sweet Donations, at our corporate office on June 18th. Eight nonprofit organizations each partnered with a store manager to create a special ice cream sundae for the competition. A panel of five judges determined that the Children’s Harbor sundae was the winner. Taking home first-place, Children’s Harbor received a donation of $1,500 from Hoffman’s Chocolates.

Hoffman’s Chocolates donated $250 to each nonprofit organization who participated. The participating nonprofit organizations included:

Free ice cream for MADD

Hoffman’s Sweet Ride served complimentary ice cream to the runners and walkers at the 2019 Walk Like MADD and MADD Dash. Over 350 scoops were served. What better way to start the day then with a scoop of Stellar Coffee ice cream or end the race with a refreshing Rainbow Sherbet.

Pineapple Jam at Stranahan House

Hoffman’s Chocolates Sweet Ride provided complimentary ice cream to the guests attending the Pineapple Jam at Stranahan House: A Party in Paradise for Preservation benefiting the Historic Stranahan House Museum. All proceeds support the historic preservation and education programs at the Historic Stranahan House Museum

Besides the tradition flavors; Chocolate and Vanilla, Hoffman’s provided a Hawaiian Fruit Cup and Lemon Sorbet.

Celebrate National Poetry Month with Gourmet Caramel Apples

Hoffman’s Chocolates is pleased to announce that it will be celebrating National Poetry Month in April by teaming up with the Jason Taylor Foundation to support the young poets of the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network.

Hoffman’s Chocolates will donate 10% of all of its Gourmet Caramel Apple sales during the month of April to the Jason Taylor Foundation. The Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network is an after-school spoken word poetry program serving students in South Florida Public Schools through the Jason Taylor Foundation.

“We are excited to once again partner with the Jason Taylor Foundation and celebrate National Poetry Month,” said Randall Vitale, President of Hoffman’s Chocolates. “We truly believe in the greatness of this program and have witnessed the importance poetry has in the growth and development of children.”

The caramel apples are available in the chocolatier’s eight retail locations in Palm Beach and Broward County. The prices of the caramel apples range from $6.75-$9.75, with a variety of flavors to choose from.

The Jason Taylor Foundation’s mission is to support and create programs that facilitate the personal growth and empowerment of South Florida’s children in need by focusing on improved health care, education and quality of life. In addition to setting up the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network, the Jason Taylor Foundation has also created the “Louder Than A Bomb Florida” competition. Dubbed the “Super Bowl of Poetry,” Louder Than a Bomb Florida features a friendly spoken-word competition between school-based poetry teams representing local high schools from Broward County, Miami-Dade and beyond.

HOFFMAN’S CHOCOLATES PARTNERS WITH NEIGHBORS4NEIGHBORS TO ADOPT FAMILIES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Hoffman’s Chocolates will also donate a portion of online holiday sales to Neighbors4Neighbors

 

Greenacres, Fla. (October xx, 2017)Hoffman’s Chocolates announced today that it will partner with Neighbors4Neighbors this holiday season to support the organization’s “Adopt a Family 4 The Holidays” initiative. Hoffman’s Chocolates nine retail stores and corporate office headquarters will each adopt a family in need to make their Holidays extra special. In addition, a portion of proceeds from Hoffman’s Chocolates’ online sales made from October 15 through December 20, will be donated to Neighbors4Neighbors with the use of the code “N4N25” at checkout.

 

Hoffman’s Chocolates Palm Beach stores will adopt their families through the Kids Cancer Foundation and its Broward Stores will adopt families through the Jessica June Cancer Foundation. The store managers of each Hoffman’s Chocolates store will take their team out for a day of shopping to purchase gifts from the family’s Christmas wish list.

 

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Neighbors4Neighbors this holiday season and to have the opportunity to not only give back to families in need, but to also form meaningful connections with these members of our community” said Lois Marino, Director of Community Engagement for Hoffman’s Chocolates. “We hope to be able to make this Holiday Season an unforgettable one for both our staff and the families.”

 

As part of the partnership, Hoffman’s Chocolates will host an exclusive event with Santa on December 9th at 4 p.m. for all adopted families at its Greenacres Factory, Shoppe, Ice Cream Parlour and Gardens. The adopted families will be treated to Hoffman’s Chocolates, confections and ice cream. They will also be able to experience the holiday light display in the gardens and receive their presents straight from Santa Claus himself.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Wins Ice Cream Sundae Competition

CFF’s winning sundae, Crunchy Monkey Peanut Butter Bang, will be available at Hoffman’s Chocolates Stores from August 21 through September 4

 

Hoffman’s Chocolates held its Ice Cream Sundae CompetitionMaking Sweet Creations for Sweet Donations at Hoffman’s Chocolates/ BBX Capital’s corporate office on August 11. Seven nonprofit organizations each partnered with a Hoffman’s store manager to create a special ice cream sundae for the competition. A panel of five judges determined that the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s (CFF) Crunchy Monkey Peanut Butter Bang sundae was the winning combination. Taking home first-place, CFF will receive a donation of $1,500 from Hoffman’s Chocolates and the opportunity to have its winning flavor featured in all Hoffman’s Chocolates stores.

 

Served in a freshly-made waffle bowl half-dipped in chocolate, the over-the-top Crunchy Monkey Peanut Butter Bang sundae features three 4 oz. scoops of Hoffman’s signature ice cream.  The three ice cream flavors include Banana Cream Pie, a creamy banana ice cream with marshmallow ribbons and baked pie crust; Chocolate Fudge Brownie, a velvety chocolate ice cream filled with moist fudge brownie pieces and chocolate fudge; and Elephant Ears, vanilla ice cream swirled with peanut butter and large chocolate chips. The three scoops are topped with Hoffman’s rich peanut butter cups and fresh bananas that are covered in sugar and flambeed to a perfect crisp. The mouthwatering sundae is coated with a smooth caramel sauce and finished off with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

 

The Crunchy Monkey Peanut Butter Bang sundae will be featured in all stores from August 21 through September 4 (excluding the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport store). The masterminds behind this delicious sundae recipe were Darlene Eddy, Hoffman’s Chocolates Plantation Store Manager, and Christina Landshut, Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation South Florida Office. In addition to the initial donation of $1,500, Hoffman’s Chocolates will make a second donation to support the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

 

“This is our second time holding our summer ice cream sundae competition, and it’s a really fun way for our store managers to make meaningful connections with leaders of various nonprofit organizations in our South Florida community,” said Lois Marino, Director of Community Engagement for Hoffman’s Chocolates. “The way we set up the competition, every participant walks away with a donation, so it’s a win-win for all organizations and a feel-good event for us.”

A panel of five judges sampled each organization’s sundae creation at the event. The judges included Jarett Levan, President of BBX Capital; Craig Setzer, Chief Meteorologist at CBS 4 Miami; Senator George LeMieux; Chairman, Gunster; Representative Shevrin Jones, Florida State Representatives; and Linda Buccilli, Growth and Development Director, Northwestern Mutual.

All Backpacks Collected on August 12 and 13 will be Donated to Kids in Distress

 

As part of its ongoing support of the community, Hoffman’s Chocolates is pleased to announce that it will celebrate the start of the 2017/2018 school year by holding a Backpack Donation Drive to benefit Kids in Distress (KID) of Palm Beach and Broward Counties. KID is a nationally accredited agency working for the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family, and the treatment of abused and neglected children.

 

Anyone who donates a new school backpack at a participating Hoffman’s Chocolates location on Saturday, August 12 or Sunday, August 13 will receive their choice of a FREE ¼ lb. Pre-packaged Classic Assortment Box of Milk or Dark Chocolates or a Hot Fudge Sundae made with two scoops of ice cream, topped with hot fudge, one additional topping, and whipped cream (limited to one complimentary Hoffman’s treat per one donated backpack and valid for redemption on the day of donation only). All backpacks need to be brought to the store registers for redemption.
