Florida Panthers Announce ‘Hockey Holidays Ice Rinks’ Presented by Hoffman’s Chocolates

The Florida Panthers, the City of Fort Lauderdale and Hoffman’s Chocolates in Greenacres announced today they will partner to host ‘Hockey Holidays Ice Rinks,’ two outdoor ice skating rinks in South Florida during the holiday season.

The Panthers and Hoffman’s Chocolates in Greenacres have collaborated once again to create a 60×40 foot outdoor skating rink along side of Hoffman’s Chocolates Winter Wonderland holiday display.

“We’re thrilled to present Hockey Holidays Ice Rinks for a second year in a row at Hoffman’s Chocolates in Greenacres and a third year in a row at Huizenga (Bubier) Park in Fort Lauderdale,” said Panthers rep. “We hope these outdoor rinks bring the holiday spirit to the South Florida community and everyone gets the chance to experience them.”

The Greenacres outdoor holiday rink will officially open on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. and the hours of operation will be: Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m and Saturday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The rink will have an early closure on Christmas Eve (6 p.m.) and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The Florida Panthers and the City of Fort Lauderdale have collaborated for the third year to create a 80×40 foot outdoor ice skating rink at Huizenga (Bubier Park) at the intersection of Las Olas and Andrews Ave located right near Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk. The Bubier Park outdoor rink will open on Sunday, Nov. 25 and go until January 7, 2018. The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The rink will have early closure on Christmas Eve (6 p.m.) and closed on Christmas Day. On Nov. 25 only, the rink will open at 10 a.m. in conjunction with Winterfest Family Fun Day.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the holiday season again with Florida Panthers Ice Rink at our Annual Winter Wonderland,” stated Randall Vitale, President of Hoffman’s Chocolates. “For almost 30 years, Hoffman’s Chocolates has been wowing families of South Florida with our Winter Wonderland in Palm Beach County, and we’re excited to continue to bring the magic to their smiling faces. We can’t wait to lace up our skates.”

The outdoor ice skating rinks will be built on site at Huizenga (Bubier Park) and Hoffman’s Chocolate Factory in Greenacres. Both rinks will be fully enclosed by a tent. The temperature in the rink will be controlled with chillers to keep the ice cool at 32 degrees and will be constantly shaved and replenished to provide the best skating experience for guests.

General admission tickets are $15 including skate rentals, group admission (10+ skaters) is $13, military and first responders are $10 (Valid ID required). The Panthers will also offer a Panthers ticket package at both rinks that begin at $25 for an upper level ticket voucher and $55 for a lower level ticket voucher.
